Pet Safe Slug Control with Slug Nematodes
Slug Nematodes are the most effective natural pest control to rid your garden of slugs. They are microscopic, transparent worms, which feed and multiply inside the slug. Safe to use around children, pets and wildlife.
The nematodes are found naturally in the soil, you are just topping up the numbers by applying these.
How Long After Applying Slug Nematodes Can I see Results?
Once you apply the slug nematodes, the slugs stop feeding after a few days and die within a week. For total control apply every 6 weeks. Start your slug control early and apply at least a week before planting to ensure your garden is safe from slugs.
How do I apply Slug Nematodes?
The nematodes come complete with instructions and can be applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF) and ensure the soil does not dry out for at least two weeks after applying nematodes. Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied the nematodes.
Please note these are a live product and have an expiry date usually about 2 weeks - this product is non returnable. Use the whole pack before the expiry date. Best applied: Feb/March - October.

How to Apply Slug Nematodes
Application conditions:
Apply early morning or late evening to minimize the effect of heat and sunlight. The soil surface should be moist at the time of application. For drench applications over foliage water within 30 minutes of treatment to wash nematodes off the leaves and below the soil surface.
For optimum results, keep the soil moist for 3-4 weeks after application. The entire spray solution should be applied once mixed. Do not store for longer than 4 hours.Â
Use a watering can with a coarse rose suitable for nematodes.
Keep nematode solution agitated continuously.
Instructions for use:
Use as soon as possible upon delivery. The product may be stored for a limited period of time at 4 to 8°C.
Use the entire pack at one time. Usual expiry date is around two weeks once you receive the nematodes. Use all at once when opened.
