For Indoor Sowing:
When: All year round
Where: In a microgreen growing tray, or in a small tray of moist compost.
How: Sow generously and spray gently with water to moisten the seeds. Place on a light airy windowsill, to ensure you have a continuous supply of microgreens sow them every 7-10 days.
Care: Keep moist, do not allow seed to dry out
Harvest: All year round, when approx. 5cm high or when first true leaves appear.
Tip: Sow half a tray at a time for convenient, continuous crops. Sowing to harvest times may change throughout the year as growing conditions and light levels change.
Please Note: Ensure growing trays are thoroughly washed before they are reused.
What are microgreens?
Microgreens are small vegetable greens that are harvested just after they have developed one set of small leaves. They are used to supplement food nutritionally or to add spice, flavour or texture to a dish. Microgreens are very small because they are harvested very soon after sprouting. They can be used as a garnish for soups, sandwiches or as the main vegetable in other dishes.
