These pet friendly slug pellets stop slugs feeding on fruit, vegetables and flowers on the soil surface in the garden or under glass (e.g. Hostas, bedding plants, strawberries, lettuce and cabbages)

What are these organic slug pellets made from?

This slug and snail killer is a blue pellet containing Ferric phosphate, a naturally occurring active ingredient.

Contains 10g/kg hydrated ferric phosphate (technical) at least 7.02g/kg anhydrous ferric phosphate as a granular bait (ready for use) formulation.

How do natural slug pellets work?

As with all slug pellets they control slugs feeding on the soil surface. With crops below the soil surface such as potatoes and carrots, the number of slugs may not be reduced. Similarly, protection for high plants such as flowers, currant or brussels sprouts may not be adequate.

Slugs prefer moist and soaked pellets. On moist soil or in humid conditions the pellets absorb water and swell. This attracts the slugs and they start to eat the pellets then they stop feeding. They then crawl under the soil or a secluded location to die.

Approved for organic gardening, the pellets biodegrade and convert into iron and phosphate in the soil delivering added nutrients to the plants.

Are the slug pellets safe for wildlife and pets?

Ferric phosphate is non-toxic to birds, bees and other beneficial insects.

It is also pet friendly.

When is the best time to use slug pellets?

At the first sign of plant damage use a directed, best applied during late evening or early morning when slugs are most active.
