Summer Salad Seed CollectionPlease note these seeds are not organic

Contains 9 varieties of seeds for you to grow. All the essential ingredients you would want to include in a delicious summer salad.Some items will bear fruit all summer long whilst others will need to be sown in succession, full growing instructions are on the packet.
Why not mix a few of the lettuce and rocket seeds together and sow in a pot or container for your own salad leaf mix.

This pack includes the following varieties

Beetroot - Boltardy
Average 150 seeds

Excellent bolting resistance, wonderful flavour with good colour and texture. Suitable for early and maincrop. Do not let them get too large.
Instructions : Sow successionally from Mar - July 2.5cm (1") deep with rows 30cm (12") apart, sow thinly then thin out to 10cm (4") apart. Suitable for freezing or store away from frost in sand or soil.
Sowing : March to July Harvest : June onwards

Cucumber - Burpless Tasty Green F1
Average 12 seeds

A favourite variety for outdoor use that will also grow well in the greenhouse, it produces dark green medium to long fruits. Delicious flavour and easy to grow. As the name says it's tasty and does not make you burp as some cucumber varieties do.
Instructions : Sow 1.5cm (3/4") deep in 75mm (3") pots keep temp around 20-22C Germination approx 10 days. Harden off and plant out 60cm (24") apart after all risk of frost has passed. Pinch out at 6 leaf stage and train shoots up netting or trellis. DO NOT REMOVE MALE FLOWERS.
Sowing : Indoors: Feb to April. Outdoors: May to June Harvest : May to October

Herb - Rocket Salad
Average 500 seeds

Easy to grow and quick to mature. Rocket has delicious peppery flavoured leaves which can be mixed with other salad leaves.
Instructions : Sow thinly every 2 weeks in rows 30cm (12") apart. Thin to 15cm (6") between plants and use thinnings as baby leaves. Harvest individual leaves as required. Pinch out flower buds to prolong cropping.
Sowing : April to September Harvest : May to October

Lettuce - Salad Bowl Mix
Average 500 seeds

A mix of Red and Green Salad Bowl Lettuce. A tender and crisp 'non-hearting' lettuce. The leaves can be picked when required. Sow every 2 weeks for leaves all Summer long.
Instructions : Sow thinly 1.5cm (3/4") deep, in rows 20cm. (8") apart. Thin seedlings to 20cm (8") Keep weed free and well watered. Early sowings can be made under glass.
Sowing : March to July Harvest : June to October

Lettuce - Little Gem
Average 250 seeds

A special selection of Little Gem with a small, sweet heart, crunchy texture and superb taste,
Instructions : Sow sparingly 1.5cm (3/4") deep with 30cm (12") between rows. Sow every 2 weeks continuous cropping. Thin out to 15cm (6") apart. Water well in dry weather. Early sowings can be made under cloches.
Sowing : March to August Harvest : June to October

Radish - Cherrybelle
Average 500 seeds

Early and fast maturing round red radish with a mild flavour. Use as a catch crop between slower growing vegetables.
Instructions : Sow Feb to Sept every 2 weeks. Sow thinly in a cool moist position approx 1.5cm (3/4") deep. Water well in dry periods, harvest as soon as they are ready for a crisp, crunchy radish.
Sowing : Feb to Sept Harvest : Feb to Oct

Salad Onion - White Lisbon
Average 300 seeds

A fast maturing salad onion, sow every 3 weeks for cropping all summer and into autumn.
Instructions : Sow in 1.5cm (3/4") deep with rows 15cm (6") apart in an open sunny position. Keep plants well watered, particularly in dry weather. Salad Onions do best on well prepared ground. Can be autumn sown in protected areas for overwintering.
Sowing : March-May Harvest : May to October

Sweet Pepper - Californian Wonder
Average 25 seeds

Large square shaped fruits with a mild sweet taste. They are best harvested when green.
Instructions : Sow 5mm (1/4") deep in a tray of compost, prick out into 7.5cm (3") pots when large enough. Grow on until 15cm (6") tall, then plant into a large pot or growbag in the greenhouse.
Sowing : March to April Harvest : July to October

Tomato - Alicante
Average 70 seeds

Alicante produces early heavy crops of flavoursome Tomato's suitable for indoor or outdoor growing. Support plants, pinch out side shoots. Water daily, and when the first trusses have set apply a liquid feed every two weeks.
Instructions : Indoors. Sow 0.5cm (1/4") deep in seed compost, Temp. at 18C. when large enough transplant to 7.5cm (3") pots & reduce Temp. to 16C. Plant into large pots or grow bags in the greenhouse late April-May. Outdoors. Grow as above except use unheated greenhouse, harden off and plant out early June.
Sowing : Indoors. Jan to March Outdoors: March to April Harvest : June to Oct
