Max Min ThermometerFor use inside or outside. Maximum Minimum thermometers record the highest and lowest temperatures reached day and night, by pushing markers to the extreme readings until re-set.

When the temperature rises, the marker in the right hand column will be pushed upwards to indicate the maximum temperature. When the temperature falls, the left hand marker will be pushed upwards to indicate the minimum temperature.

The thermometer should be fixed so that it is out of direct heat and sunlight. If the mercury has become separated before, or in use, hold the thermometer at the top and swing it down very quickly at arms length as a clinical thermometer. This gradually forces the particles of mercury together. Any small air bubbles will disappear if the instrument is put in a warm or sunny place for a short while.
