Leatherjacket Nematodes

Leatherjacket Nematodes

The biological control for leatherjackets is the predatory nematode Steinernema feltiae. this nematode will significantly reduce leatherjackets and therefore reduce the damage to lawns.

Leatherjackets feed on grass roots from September through to the following summer and are the legless greyish brown larvae of the crane fly (daddy long legs). The main damage is caused by birds and mammals trying to get to the insects.

Available April then again September/October
